Senior Managing Counsel at Trustwave

Responsibilities:

  • Support and manage global sales teams by reviewing contracts, interpreting relevant provisions and collaborating to close customer negotiations in a timely manner
  • Negotiate and draft other commercial agreements such as vendor contracts
  • Provide general legal advice on a variety of topics such as intellectual property and employment law matters, with the support of appropriate outside counsel resources
  • Manage Chicago-based legal team.
  • Negotiate and draft corporate documents and other general corporate work
  • Assist General Counsel with corporate governance function -- preparing for board meetings, compiling board books, and drafting resolutions and minutes of meetings
  • Provide support in connection with litigation matters
  • Remain current on relevant laws affecting Trustwave’s business and potentially useful information on behalf of the legal team
  • Requirements:

    • J.D. and excellent academic credentials
    • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
    • Bar admission in Illinois
    • At least 8-10 years of law firm or in-house legal department experience, focused on negotiation of significant commercial transactions; corporate experience desirable
    • Proactive, solution-oriented business partner
    • Detail-oriented, organized and meticulous individual
    • Information security, and/or cybersecurity experience is a plus


    Education:

    Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree (JD) from an ABA-accredited School of Law.

    Professional certifications:

    Must be an admitted member in good-standing of the Illinois Bar.
